A Content Object is any piece of information you can use within COSNICS. Content Objects are stored in the Repository and can be published to Applications (Courses, Portfolio,...)
A Content Object is a building block for information. In most cases a Content Object is a file, but it can be much more, e.g. learning path, diary entry, forum responses, ...
A Content Object can be simple or complex. One Content Object can be used to build a bigger more complex Content Object, e.g. an image used inside a question used inside an assessment, a file used as feedback in an assignment, assessments within a learning path, etc.
A Content Object can be edited, duplicated, published multiple times in multiple applications for different periods of time. The golden rule for Content Objects: “Make once, use many”.
