Repository

1 What is this?

The Repository is your personal library within COSNICS. Everything you use, is stored here.  These can be documents you make, files you upload or links you create.

It is important to know that any content object you create is physically stored in your repository. To get content objects into a course, you need to publish them. After publishing, the content object will still be stored in your repository.

If you modify a Content Object, it will be modified in all locations you have published it. This is because the physical location of the Content Object is inside your Repository. This is even the case if you change the Content Object from within a course.

Create or uploading files can be done from within Courses. The Content Object will be stored in your Repository and automatically published in the Course . If you add a Content Object directly to your Repository, you will need to publish it afterwards.

You can organise your Repository by creating Categories.

2 Steps

Create (= a new Content Object)

Import  (= a new file (Content Object) into COSNICS)

Search (= for a Content Object in your Repository)

Create, edit, delete and remove categories

Quota (incl. recycle bin)

Every user has a certain number of MB allocated to use. If you want to know how mush you have left, you have to click Quota.

Mind: the content of your recycle bin is included in your quota. You need to empty it regularly.

If you get ‘disk quota exceeded’ when you upload a file, you will need to allocate some disk space. First check if you can delete unused content objects from the Repository (including your recycle bin. If you cannot allocate more space, you will have to apply for a higher Quota. Click Request a quota upgrade. The system administrator will evaluate your request, he can deny or grant you the upgrade.
